Where the Curves Decide

Day two changed the rhythm. After the long approach, the journey finally began to climb. The road turned toward Andorra, a place we did not know well, strange and beautiful in its own way — but, as always, it was the mountains that made the real decision for us. Curves, rock, guardrails, short horizons, the feeling of the bike leaning into the landscape. We crossed out of Andorra into Spain, then back into France, following the kind of roads that slow you down in the best possible sense: not because they hold you back, but because they ask you to pay attention. Late in the evening we arrived at Le Clos Galan, tired and happy, in one of those places that immediately feels like a reward. A cigar, a whisky, the bikes resting after the road, and the quiet certainty that day three would begin from a good place. In the end, the destination was Biarritz.
