Route des Crêtes above the Mediterranean
Some roads are not just roads. Today’s highlight was the Route des Crêtes, above the Mediterranean — a short stretch of asphalt with a view that makes you stop, walk a little higher, and take it all in. The wind was wild up there. Strong enough to push you around, strong enough to remind you where you are. But the bike, all 300 kilos of it, stayed planted and calm. We rode, stopped, walked, looked down at the blue water and the coast, then dropped back toward Cassis for lunch near the calanques.
