Monaco to the Var, with the sea behind us and the small roads ahead. Today Lucia and I left Monaco for Cassis, but slow travel did what slow travel does best: it made us stop before the destination. We ended up in Montfort-sur-Argens, a tiny village in the Var wrapped in vineyards, stone houses, and that quiet southern light that makes every kilometre feel earned. The forecast had promised rain, but the sky stayed clear. Lucky, yes — but also exactly the kind of gift you only receive when you leave the motorway and let the road decide. The real pleasure began after the exit: narrow roads, gentle speed limits, small villages, warm air, and the motorcycle settling into the rhythm of the landscape. Lucia, eleven years old, was the perfect passenger. We talked all the way through the intercom, sharing the road, the jokes, the views, and that simple feeling of moving through the world together. Now we are in a beautiful little B&B, run by a kind Swedish host, hidden in a village that feels made for arriving slowly. Dinner at the local restaurant, the bike parked, the day still glowing. Tomorrow: Cassis, La Ciotat, the Route des Crêtes, and lunch with Paco. This is not about getting there fast. It is about collecting the road, one small miracle at a time. #MotorbikeSlowTravel #SlowTravel #MotorcycleTravel #RideEurope #Backroads #Var #MontfortSurArgens #Cassis #LaCiotat #RouteDesCretes #FatherDaughterRide #MotorcycleLife #TravelByMotorcycle #TwoWheels #RoadStories #SouthOfFrance #Vineyards #SmallRoads #AdventureByMotorcycle
